Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel - In-Game Social Emotes

Recently, I have started playing Konami's "Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel" game on Steam. It is fun but I miss the social interaction I get from other card games such as Hearthstone. Many times I have wanted to greet my opponent or express my enthusiasm on a combo move, but I cannot due to the game's design. Sooo, I decided to start a small personal project (and exercise) and see how would a real In-Game Social System would work based on the game's UI aesthetic, design and history. Enjoy!

1. First Screen is what the Match looks like in the beginning.

2. In the second Screen there is a Hover-Over my Avatar. At the moment, the in-game players' Avatars do nothing. I decided that this is a good place to nest the Emotes. It is not intrusive and gives purpose to the Avatar's picture.

3. In the third picture we see the Pop-Up Emote List. There are four emotes.
- The first one is the "Greeting". "It's Time to Duel" is a key-phrase, iconic in Yu-Gi-Oh! (Season 1), and fits perfectly here.
- The second one is the "Taunt". Ideally, the phrase should be "Play/Draw Your Last Pathetic Card" (also a popular phrase from the anime), but I didn't want to turn the Match into a toxic experience (There are Deck archetypes such as "Tearlaments" that already make players angry, to say the least).
- The third one is "Wow/Shock/WTF". In this case I decided to go with a meme word that is also used quite a lot in the original version of the anime. It is "Nani?!" which is the japanese word for "What?!".
- The fourth emote is "GG" and "Nice Move/Well Played". It is also one of Jaden Yuki's signture phrases from Yu-Gi-Oh! GX (Season 4).

4. The fourth Screen is the Emote Selection.

5. The fifth Screen shows how and where the Emote would display. On the top right we see the same for the Opponent.

6. The sixth Screen is the Scenario of muting the opponent. Many players have a habit of spamming emotes and it gets quite annoying.
